35 weeks and dilated

Hey ladies, had my appointment the other day and can’t stop thinking about when my OB checked my cervix said that I was 3cm and 70% effaced, baby head down, but not engaged. I’m worried that baby will be coming soon. Is it normal to be dilated at 35 weeks? How long after dilating did you ladies go into labor? First time mom here.
