What do you do at your job? How was the schooling? How much are you paid?

I'm not certified but I work at a hospital. The hospitals in my area don't require certification and train you what they want you to know.  I'm in nursing school, so the position I work in is PRN for students, most hospitals have full time, part time, and PrN open all the time.
My day is like this, arrive at work, get report and learn about the patients. Get vital signs, depending on the floor I'm on. Get water for patients. Introduce myself to everyone. Check blood sugars before breakfast, help with breakfast, then give people baths until lunch and change sheets on beds. Then rinse and repeat. It's a lot of running all day. But I like working in the hospital a lot more than when I worked in assisted living. Pay is a lot better too.

I think CNA course was 8 weeks. You do a lot as a CNA. Mostly basic care of patients from all ages and helping the nurses.

I hated working as a CNA. I worked in a nursing home and the residents were so mean. I was hit, bit, pinched, pissed on, shit on, yelled at, degraded, and just over all treated unfairly by staff and residents. The pay was terrible and we got the blame for everything. I was payed to take the CNA class and once I was licensed I got a raise but it wasn’t enough. But they are always hiring CNAs
