i’m 17 and i want to start birth control but idk how to tell my parents. help?

I didnt tell my mom at first I got a prescription through nurx and it only cost me $15 a month but free with insurance. You definitely should tell your parents if you feel comfortable but its your body and you don’t need your parents permission to get birth control.

Just tell them you want to start birth control.  If they ask why, well for me my reason was because I had/still have extremely painful cramps which BC can help with.  So don't worry too much if they start saying you shouldn't because that's only for preventing pregnancy, tell them all sorts of reasons for it besides preventing pregnancy.  Like if you have irregular periods or cramping or you just want to.  😁 Your parents should understand your decision and support it.
