Does it bother you when people call babies/young children "flirts"

Bo

The other day, while grocery shopping with my 1 year old daughter.. she was playing "peek a boo" with the man behind me.. she'd lean over laugh at him and then get out of sight of him and do it again.. I'm pretty sure he was making faces at her because she seemed to be enjoying this game, and grabbed something in the cart and put it in her mouth, which I promptly grabbed and put it out of her reach back into the cart and she began to fuss then she leaned over and laughed again doing that same peek a boo game,.... Anyways, this lady beside me was like "she's gonna make some man real happy one day", "she's a little flirt", "you're gonna have your hands full when she gets older", "you're gonna be beating the boys away with a stick", ect.

The first comment to bother me was the one she said when my daughter put something in her mouth and she proceeded to say "she's gonna make some man happy one day"... Like you sick fuck, please go about your own business.. and don't say shit like that about children.

The second straw was when my child was playing "peek-a-boo" with the man in line behind us and calling her a flirt simply because a man was the one playing this game.. but she does this with all people.. and I don't see it as a way of "flirting" because that's fucking gross that you're going to imply that a one year old is "flirting" because of a game children love to play of "now you see me, now you don't" when the woman said that my child was a flirt the guy behind me pretty much completely stopped interacting with my child and went into the other check out lane.. I assume it's because that comment made him probably feel uncomfortable because now he was probably questioning if he was encouraging a child to "flirt", the line he got into was longer than the line he was in so it wasn't like he was changing lanes because another line was faster.. the ladies comments were just super uncomfortable and each comment she made just made it worse.. like fucking stop it.

Maybe I'm being super sensitive to these comments.. but I just really can't fucking stand that shit. I can't be the only one here to feel this way.

As for the lady commenting on my child.. I really didn't say anything to her and just tried to ignore the words coming from her mouth because, I'm not gonna get into a brawl in the checkout lane at the grocery store I frequent.. I just gave her a side eye and told her I didn't speak English.. as that's always been my go to to avoid confrontation in public settings.
