We want to plan a trip the carribean Christmas week 2019. So I’m posing this question because I live in New York and recently there has been a rise in the Measles from travelers coming back from Israel I live in Queens and it’s happened in Brooklyn I don’t know if anybody’s familiar with the situation.

regardless I’ve gone on to the CDC website and I’ve done a little research on different islands such as Barbados and Jamaica and I continue to see that it is suggested by the CDC for a baby to get their MMR shot or an MMR Dose before we go.

has anyone given their child the MMR vaccine before the 18 month suggested time?

I’m vaccinating my child but I am just curious due to the stigma that the MMR vaccine causes autism.

by no means does that mean that I’m not going to vaccinate my child I am but I’m just trying to stick to the schedule and do it between the 18 months and 24 months suggested window

I’ve done my research and asked my pediatrician and I know there is no correlation between autism and MMR shot but I am still a little leery I’m a first-time mom and I am just asking if anybody has gone through this situation or if you’ve gone to the Caribbean in the last year or so and have not vaccinated your child I had of the vaccine schedule.

Sorry for the long post but just curious as to what you moms did

Thank you in advance
