Blah, the no TV thing is so olver hyped. Your baby isn't even going to let you put them infront of a TV all day, they will loose intrest. Lol My babe watches for a little and then fusses. Or it's on because his brother is watching a little. I would just avoid before naps and bed because it can be pretty stimulating.

No, we’re able to find other various things to occupy her time. I hung a party decoration (Star) by our AC vent and every time it turns on it blows it around she just loves it. She spends time in the Pack N Play on her own, I’ll switch out the toys every now and then. Her Baby Banana keeps her occupied and she likes gnawing on it. We go outside at least once a day, and even checking the mail counts, we just take our time. We listen to music, she likes jazz. Tummy time or a little massage and nap time takes up a lot of her time too. I read that the TV can lead to behavioral issues later and it’s just a personal choice of mine. People respect it too, so we are happy and confident in our decision. She’ll have plenty of time later in life to check out screens.

With ours having colic, it’s sometimes the only downtime I get to make my coffee or something to eat. She used to scream if she was set down for longer than 2 minutes. Hated her swing, hated her chair. We started with sensory videos that played classical music and shifted colors and shapes. Now at 4 months she will watch those little baby bum videos on Netflix or YouTube. She loses interest by 10 minutes usually, but I appreciate my arms getting a break.

We’ve never used the television as a distraction or entertainment for the little guy. I think he’s too little for that. With that being said on the weekdays the TV is on from 9-10am (I love kelly & Ryan) so he does obviously hear the TV but I keep him playing with his own toys and talk to him. And then occasionally I put it on once or twice a week as background noise but again he’s busy doing his own baby stuff with mom or dad, or both. Sometimes the background noise of Chandler attempting to flirt with a model in an ATM vestibule is needed to keep ones sanity during long mommying days.. gum would be perfection.

Our TV is always on when my husband is home. He has adhd terribly and it helps him focus if it's on in the background. She might watch a minute or 2 here and there if she purposely turns to face it but we never actually plop her down in front of the TV with the full intention of her having screen time.
