Thin blue line

Jenna

The thin blue line is meant to represent the sacrifice law enforcement officers make every day and references how police are the line that separates unrest and chaos from normal life. My town recently had a police officer shot on duty and these thin blue line flags were seen on almost every street corner. However, some say that it is a racist and specifically anti-black as the term “blue lives matter” that goes along with the thin blue line flag is a play on “black lives matter.” It should be pointed out that other sections of EMS have sometimes also been pictured on the flag such as “paramedics,” should this be changed too? What do you guys think? If it should be changed, how would it be changed?
