Ok so I decided to try this app (it was $4.99) that uses the iPhone microphone to detect the fetal heartbeat. (I put it in airplane mode when using) So I tried it on myself and it I could hear my own heartbeat and then I also tried on my 4 year old and was able to hear slightly faster heartbeat as well. The app doesn’t show the bpm but you can record it count how many beats your hear in ten seconds and multiply by six to get the bpm. I purposely experimented on myself and my 4 year old to be sure the heart rates were accurate for an adult and a child. So therefore when I absolutely DID find the fetal heartbeat, I was able to figure out their bpm was around 144. There is much debate about whether this app is fake or not but I believe it and have found it to be true. Any other mommas out there who have had experiences with this app?
