Single moms, how do you do it?

How do you get money? I’m wanting to leave my fiancé but he is the only source of income and I’m not allowed to work while I’m pregnant, doctors orders. I’m currently 23 weeks along. I don’t know what to do.

I got everything I needed up until she turned 3 months at my baby shower, and after my daughter was born I got child support.

Right now I get unemployment. I also have WIC. I live with my mom and sister, so they help out in terms of food and when I don't have enough to pay rent or bills they'll pay for that month. I just took out a loan, which is not the smartest thing. But I don't want to put my 8 month daughter in childcare while I work. I rather scrap by for now, until she's a little older. For now I'm enjoying our time together. 🙂

I get money from Welfare (Calworks) government aid. I also get S.S.I. Ive got a mental illness that requires me to see a counselor, therapist & a psychiatrist monthly as well as taking medications for the mental illnesses. It barely pays for the bills let alone getting things that the kids need on a month to month basis. It’s actually better to work. U can make a lot more money then getting government aid. Ive always thought that I needed someone (your partner) to help cause the onlee person who’s gonna help u is u & no one else. It’s better to be independent then dependent cause he’ll have that against u for the rest of your life or how much longer your with him for.
