Telling identical twins apart??

Question

I am 23 weeks pregnant with identical twin boys.  I was wondering for those who have identical twins, what are some things you did to help keep them straight?  I hear that most parents know but of course I am freaking out about mixing mine up.   I was considering doing an anklet or pin or having them in different colors.  I am not sure though.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

As mom, you'll know the difference, especially if they are girls - identical girls are less identical than boys (Google "x inactivation").
People have a hard time telling my girls apart but to me they look very different and each have unique feature and personalities! My husband does mix them up occasionally. 🙃

For us, hair and head shape! Kai (Baby A) has a “cone head” & has darker and more hair on the top of his head, Koa (Baby B) had a flatter and less hair. But then they both started losing their hair which made it more difficult, but Kai still has more hair on the sides (harder to see in pics now) & I can still tell the difference in their head shapes. That was my biggest fear too, but once they were born, we just knew..like everyone else says 😆 
BUT FOR PICTURES, FROM DAY 1, I always make sure to place Kai (Baby A) on the left, and Koa (Baby B) on the right! So if I ever 2nd guess who is who looking back on pics, I know...(which I have 😂) and when I’m older and forgetful, the boys will know too because of the placement 😉

I think an anklet is a great idea.
Perhaps choose a color and or pattern that each one will always wear.
I'm a twin and I was dressed in pinks and reds, as my sister wore blues and purples.
A little old fashioned but my parents used different colored safety pins on our diapers too
One other tip is when taking pictures they always put me on the right side and my sister on the left, or for family photos my dad would always hold me and my mom would hold my sister. 
It might seem silly or extra, but it's been really nice as an adult to be able to point out which one I am in a picture.

I don’t have identical boys as they are fraternal, but handy tip for any twin mom..we color code everything to prevent cross contamination. One boy always has blue for bottles and pacifiers (they never took to the pacifiers anyway tho) and the other gets green. It helps keep us from getting bottles mixed up if we set them down (and it will happen).

If we find that we are having a hard time telling our girls apart, we plan to paint one of their big toes with nail polish. A simple foot check will tell us who is who. Lol

My husband and I joked, and I emphasize joked, that with our identical twin boys we should circumcise one and not the other. I think we'll use some of the strategies people have posted we have different color pacifier clips and the positioning on different sides in photos I think is a really good tip. Currently my boys are vastly different sizes so they are easy to tell apart they're also only 11 days old so I assume they will catch up to each other and look a little bit more similar as time progresses. Congratulations on your boys.

My sisters are identical twins and they look nothing alike to me. My mom says they have always looked different to her. She claims a mother just knows! She did however have to place a safety pin (this was in 1982) on one twin when someone else would watch them so they would know who was who.
