If your baby was in the 4th percentile for weight at 5 months and EBF would you supplement with formula?

Have they always been at or near the 4th percentile? If so, then no I wouldn’t supplement because they are following their own growth curve. 
If they’re steadily dropping on the charts, possibly, but I would meet with a lactation consultant first to make sure there aren’t any issues with me or baby that are keeping him from gaining properly.

My daughter rocked the 1% - 3% line from birth til now. She is 15 months old, EBF until 1 year old. 
She consistently riding that line. Some babies are just small.

I depends. Some babies just start out very small. My babygirl was small at birth and is in the 5th percentile now at 5 months, shes also ebf. But her doctor isnt concerned bc she is growing perfectly, shes just gonna be smaller than other babies her age for a bit. She'll catch up eventually.

I absolutely would. But I also refused to breastfeed in the first place and aren't afraid of formula like some moms are 🙄 you can literally starve your child if you insist on breastfeeding and they're not growing. My daughter's health will always be my top priority so I'd supplement in a heartbeat, no questions asked.

You can also ask about fortifying the breast milk with formula, which we did to add calories. They still get the breast milk, but have the added calories to gain.

My baby was EBF for 2 months and she ended up in the less than 1%. I was breastfeeding her constantly. 6-7 hours in 24 hours. Over 40 hours a week. I started supplementing with formula and she is in the 20% now.

Depends on what my pediatrician recommend. Are they on the same grow curve?  My son was always the 55% tell his last appointment at 18 months. Now he at the 75%.
