Should baby sleep on it's back?

I always see babies choking on spit up... what if the baby chokes in the middle of the night from this!? Also, doesnt it miss-shapen their soft heads?

Back is safest. Babies have an instinct to turn their heads when they throw up or to swallow it. Also just turn your babies head in different directions to prevent a flat head and so they don’t get used to just one side. My daughters head is perfectly round and now at 6 months I let her sleep on whichever way she ends up which also helps with prevent the flathead.

I promise you don't "always" see babies choking on spit up 🙄 that's not unheard of, but it's not a super common occurrence either. So you're exaggerating there. Back is best. That's what the current recommendation is from the AAP. If you want to do more research on it, then do that. But your baby should only be sleeping in their belly until they're old enough to roll themselves over.

Personally I never put my babies flat on their backs, my oldest slept on her tummy and my youngest slept on her side. My oldest was a sickly baby and would throw up a lot with even the tiny cold so for my own sanity I put her on her tummy. My youngest had reflux really bad so I put her on her side to help her sleep at night. But they also say baby’s turn their heads instinctively if they choke on spit up or vomit....neither of my girls ever did turn their heads, my oldest actually got a lung infection from inhaling vomit cause she didn’t turn her head. But it’s a parenting decision on how you want and what you feel is safe for your child

Definitely only on back until the baby can roll over on its own.
