If your teenage child still living with you and still in high school got pregnant would you take care of them and the baby?

They would take care of the baby and have a part time job. I would be there to make sure they are both eating and have a home and babysit while they are at work but once they get home they have a baby to take care of.

I was a teen mom and my husbands parents let us stay with them while we saved up for our own place and my husband got a steady job. We just bought our own home at 21 years old and my husband has a great job. If they hadn’t taken us in and helped us get on our feet, we wouldn’t be where we are today. 
IMO , what they did makes them amazing parents 🤷🏽‍♀️

yes because that’s still my child no matter what. and that’s my grand baby. i honestly don’t know what goes through people’s head when they kick their child out. like what do you expect your child to do with nowhere to go? makes no sense.

I would be there for support but not to raise the baby for them..she would get a pastime job while in school and of babysit when needed but other than being at school and working she’d be taking care of it. Wanna make an adult decision you will deal with the responsibilities

I would be there for them and support them and help make it possible for them to finish school but I would not parent their child. I would make sure she was responsible for the child. Of course I wouldn’t let them be in need and they could stay in my house if that’s what you mean 😊

Like not no, but I’d make them get a job and make sure they were healthy and not partying and getting good grades. If I have to be a young grandma, they have to become a young adult and take accountability for their actions. But just like my parents were, I’m going to be super open about sex and birth control and I’ll encourage my kids to be honest and open with me and make them feel comfortable talking to me about if they become sexually active. I think that’s a big part of why teens get pregnant. Their parents don’t give them enough guidance and their schools don’t educate enough. I grew up with a high school health teacher for a mom, so she instilled some wisdom in both me and my brother and she made me very passionate about the subject and just made me want to be the same way with my future kids like I can literally talk to my mom about anything. It’s generally the kids who can’t or are afraid to talk to their parents that end up pregnant.

Of course, if they’re still a child under 18, I’m going to take care of them, they will have to get a job of course part time is fine, but yes most definitely. Now if they’re 18 and older and already graduated high school, i would help out as best i could but i would try not to take care of them, i mean i would want them to try and be better and not depend on me just for the sake of themselves, bettering themselves and doing good for their child. It’s hard to judge on the situation when it’s ever happened before

I would, but I’m not the kind of mom who’s going to be ok with taking care of the kid 24/7 and my daughter running around with her friends and going shopping and shit. If she had a baby, she’s going to be a mom and take care of it when she isn’t doing school or if she has a job 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have more than one member of family who’s pulled that shit. Going around getting high and partying and hanging with friends while the baby gets raised by the grandparent.

I want to clarify. I voted yes but I don’t mean that I would just raise the baby and take care of everything for my child. I would make sure my child and grand baby had a roof over their heads and food in their bellies but my child would still be expected to work, take care of the child, and provide child care. I would watch them when I could but it would be understood that it is not my responsibility.
