Do you Cosleep with a (large) dog?

Question

Are you going to train them not to sleep on the bed for when baby comes? My husky/mix is a good boy but he is also a big boy, and we’ll be keeping baby in a bedside bassinet for the first few months. I want to train him to leave baby be but I know he will be interested the first few days, especially at bedtime. Any advice?
(We also have 2 cats but it’s a little easier to keep them out of baby’s stuff as long as they learn it’s not ok to sleep in her crib/bassinet once we put them together).

Our big dog slept on our bed even when our son was a newborn. Every time our son would cry, our dog would whine because he was worried about the baby. Now my son is 16 months old and they both still sleep in our bed lol we’re trying to get our son to sleep in his own bed, but he gets in our bed at 1:00 in the morning almost every morning

This is our big baby. He’s a bigger baby than our son! We had him for 3 years before we had our son so he’s been extra spoiled

I had to train my two block heads to stay off the bed 😂 I feel bad but I also don’t want to take the chance that they may jump up on top of her when we have her in the bed with us.

We transitioned them more to kennel sleeping but for awhile my hubby slept with them in the guest room and I slept with baby in our room. We also taught then baby and easy. Baby is 16 months now and they are all best friends.

I have a husky, German Shepherd, and Chihuahua...up until a couple weeks ago they all slept with us. I bought large kennels for the big dogs and set them up in one of our extra rooms. We have been training them to sleep there. They are good dogs, but still young and sometimes they get excited or start rough housing in the bed and I didn't want to take the chance of anything happening to the baby. Also, I have started sleeping sooooo much better since they have left the room. I am a light sleeper and I didn't realize how much their stirring in the middle of the night had been affecting my sleep.

Yes my poodle ...jk but she takes up a Queen size bed while my PREGNANT self sleeps on the edge with little pillow or cover 😣 me no like her right now 😂

My husband and I are in the process of transitioning our two small dogs (mini doxie and Scottish terrier) to sleep in another room. It doesn’t seem like any of us slept very well last night but it was our first night. I know it’ll get better/easier for all of us!

We had to train our two dogs and two cats to sleep on the floor, they are all seniors and very spoiled. Just a simple “ Down “ worked. Or put up a baby gate so they can’t come in at night.

Our lab will be 2 years old by the time the baby arrives and he’s been co-sleeping with us since he was a small puppy. At the moment he’s my pregnancy pillow 🤣 since at nights he sleeps on my side, pushing closely into my belly. We have talked about re-training him to stay off bed but then decided that since we are not planning to take the baby into our bed, the pup can stay ... yes, at the moment we are still much more dog parents than baby parents 🤣🤣🤣 talk about someone being spoilt 🤣🤣

I do cosleep with my dog (95 lbs pibble) but I didn't and won't cosleep with my little ones. They're right next to me but not in my bed
