Should I gift my sister for her wedding?

I got married a year before my sister, she refused to be my bridesmaid and didn’t gift me anything. That’s okay but now she is getting married, I am fine to be her briadmaid but she complains to mum that I didn’t gift her anything. Mum told me that it’s immature to not gift her, but she didn’t gift me so why should I? I paid for my bridesmaids dress, which is already more than what she did for me!

The non petty, mature me says yes gift her. Be the bigger person. But the petty me says no. And I kinda like the non petty me more right now 🤷‍♀️ lol. If she's complaining about it I definitely wouldn't.

Maybe get her an inexpensive gift but make sure there sentiment behind it, that’s way your mom see you being the bigger person and you sister can’t complain even if it’s little bc it’s thoughtful. A nice picture frame with a photo of you two maybe?

I was under the impression that if you were in the wedding party you didn’t have to give a gift at the wedding. I’ve only been in my sisters wedding and didnt get her a gift at her wedding but she had about a million showers that she insisted her bridesmaids had to attend so I did get her a bunch of other things prior to the wedding. When I got married my bridesmaid gave me a gift though (but oddly enough my sister who was not in my wedding did not).

Not a single bridesmaid got me a gift. I did get all of my bridesmaids a little gift of a jewelry set to wear at the wedding. The last thing I worried about during my wedding was getting gifts- I focused more on everyone having fun. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If I were you, I’d give her the “something borrowed” for her wedding day. Do something more sentimental for a gift rather than spending a lot of money.

Be the bigger person and give a gift. It doesn’t have to be much. My sister greatly dislikes me and makes that well known by treating me differently because I’m adopted. I still invited her to my son’s birthday party to be the bigger person.
