Lip Tie?

Does this look like a lip tie to you? Having some latching issues compared to first baby but not sure where to look for help.

That’s what my (second child) son’s looked like. I got it fixed the day after he was born and stayed an extra day in the hospital because of it (it was either “make an apt in a week” or “have the dr look at it before his shift the following day”, and I chose to have the dr look the next day.)
I got lucky: because of nursing problems with my first I knew what to look for with my second and had them fix it RIGHT AWAY! 
I nursed my first for 12 months with a freaking nipple shield because she couldn’t latch correctly- I was not going through that hell with a second child. 
Getting his tie fixed worked wonders and I was able to nurse my son normally for just as long.

It does, but it may not be an issue. I would have your pediatrician take a look and refer you to a specialist if needed. Often they resolve on their own after the first face plant fall haha.

A lip tie can’t be assessed by a photo unfortunately. All babies have a form of a lip tie, but the issue is when it restricts movement of the upper lip. I recommend taking baby to a pediatric dentist, or even your pediatrician should be able to assess it for you.

That’s what my youngest’s lip tie looked like. She also had a tongue tie and a buccal (cheek) tie. We found a specialist who used a Co2 laser to cut them, and it was SUPER fast and nearly painless. 
I’d ask around your area - maybe your local breastfeeding groups or La Leche League, or even Facebook groups for moms local to you. I DEFINITELY recommend a specialist and NOT a regular doctor or dentist who wants to just use scissors. The recovery can be longer, and they can grow back more easily.

It looks like it may be a lip tie, my friend had a baby that had the same thing and it had to get fixed. Talk to your pediatrician:) good luck girl
