Do I have a right to be mad? If so, how should I handle this situation?

ni

I don’t ask for a lot of attention from my bf, and he doesn’t ask for a lot from me. But when one of us is dealing with extreme sadness or is upset, we expect each other to be there for each other.

Well, yesterday was one of those days. i was feeling super depressed and tired after a long doctors appointment full of blood tests and examinations. I texted him about it, and he talked to me for about five minutes before saying he had to go. He said he’d text me as soon as he could.

Now, this is fine. He was busy, he had already made plans, I’m not mad.

But, this was over 24 hrs ago, and still no reply from him. I know he was very busy this morning but he didn’t have plans after 2:30... in fact, he mentioned coming to see me today earlier this week (we almost always see each other on saturdays.)

He hasn’t opened any of my texts. Do I have a right to be upset? If so, how should I handle the situation?

I want more attention/effort from him in situations when I’m feeling sad, but I don’t want to tell him because then he’ll just be giving it to me because I asked, not because he wants to.
