Announcing the birth?

When do y'all plan on announcing the birth of your little ones on social media? I need two different plans, 1 for if my husband doesn't make it home (most likely what will happen) and 1 for if he's home and with me. He if doesn't make it home I won't be announcing on social media until he's home and is ready. But I'm not sure how soon after I want to announce if my hubby is home.

We will probably announce after we have let all immediate family know. We will not be having visitors at the hospital, also aren’t letting anyone but immediate family know when I am going in to have him. So it’ll all be pretty hush hush until he’s actually born lol

Very few people even know we are expecting so we are un no rush this time. Haven't decided exactly when but itll definitely be after my 2 year old gets to meet his sibling (he's part of the announcement)

I’m planning to wait until I’m comfortable with visitors. We didn’t announce until the next day with my first. We just wanted it to be us and bond with my son before we got bombarded with visitors. Once we announced we got lots of calls and texts with people asking when they could visit.

So I know I'm a bit of an outlier because I keep my kids off of social media, but for my previous births, the congratulatory messages from my cousins etc started showing up in FB within hours of her birth (I called my grandparents and the news spread before I even emailed any pics of the baby!). Once we were back home and settled, I posted something like "thank you all for the well wishes, we're all happy and healthy and settling in at home!" 
So it'll probably be the same thing this time around, a day or two after the birth.

We waited like 3-4 days after birth, once we were home and settled. I plan on doing the same

We'll tell our immediate family probably a few hours later (don't want anyone at the hospital) but won't announce on social media for a few days or more

My husband will announce once I'm in recovery, he is very good about dealing with all that while I'm recovering and bonding with baby then once we are in our room he will put his phone down and do all the things I can't do with baby until it's time to nurse.

Whenever we are settled and comfortable. With my first, it was several hours later. I don’t have a “plan,” I’m just going to announce whenever it’s convenient.

when he’s born. my husband deploys shortly after, we’ve kept this between us for 9 months as it’s going to be a super emotional time for us both
