I need advice

So my friend said she was making a diaper cake for my baby shower and she dropped it off while we were packing up. I said thank you. Anyways im taking it apart and the rubber bands are all super old cuz they just cracked. Im almost 100% sure its a diaper cake that someone made her for her son a few years ago and she just re gifted it. Still, whatever its diapers. But theres like a weird smell to them, not like cigarettes cuz she doesnt smoke them but almost kinda like smoke maybe. But she only smokes weed so itd have to be like a cigar wrap or something. But they just have an off smell. Idk what to do cuz im like idk if i want to use them but its ALOT of diapers to throw out. It could just be my sensitive nose but what would you do? Use them, throw them out? Donate? I hate wasting things so im stuck.
