Hi all! Ok so I currently have Tricare Prime. I know that with the new Tricare policy, I believe that I am allowed open enrollment and have the option to switch to select or standard (in November). I just found out that I am pregnant and I desperately want a natural water birth at the birthing center 10 min from where we currently live. I’ve had a horrible and traumatizing experience at Naval in the past and would rather go natural in a calm, serene setting. I feel like I deserve to give birth the way I please and for someone to consider my birthing plan for once. Would it make sense for me to get seen at Naval the first 20 weeks so that I can get all my blood work done, glucose test and 20 week fetal ultrasound checkup done. That way I know everything is going great? Then ask for a referral to the birthing center after?? Is that how most women do it??
