Hospital or home?

I’m having the hardest time deciding if I want everyone to meet our baby at the hospital or at our home.. 
I honestly don’t want visitors at all, but with our families it would be a literal nightmare to make them wait & id rather not deal with it. 
I almost think the hospital would be easier because once I’m home I know I’m not gonna want people over, but I also don’t want 50 people in my hospital room. 🤦🏻‍♀️ any advice on what was easier for you?

don’t sacrifice your own comfort to please other people.. i sure as hell am not. people can f-ing wait. we aren’t locking them in the basement for 18 years, we just want some time alone

We aren’t telling anyone he’s here until I’m home. I don’t care who it upsets 🤷🏻‍♀️ We want to have some time to bond before the rush of people.

I picked to have everyone come to the hospital because they can’t all wait in the actual room with me, they have to sit in the waiting room until we’re ready to see them after baby is born. And the nurses can make them leave whenever you’re ready. If you have everyone come to your house, you have a lot less control over how long they’re there, when they’ll show up, etc. At the hospital, you can let the nurses control the situation for you!

To be honest I disappeared for 3 months away from anyone with my last child. Yes I wanted to have visits, however, I thought about all the nasty things going around and those who don’t respect your rules and kiss you child or don’t wash their hands that I said the hell with that. I would rather just stay home in my bubble and give my child sometime to grasp on to life the first few months. I hear stories from people I know who lost their newborns due to having people visit with herpes virus that wasn’t exposed to viruses such as the measles put break that I am like nope I am good.

I am having immediate family only at the hospital and the rest of the family can come in small groups a week or so after she’s born.

I’m not allowing any visitors in the hospital room this time around. I did last time and I regret it. Trying to learn to breastfeed and deal with the pain of stitches in my hoo-ha and felt like I had to entertain guests! No thank you!

I’m letting immediate family members (our parents and siblings) come to the hospital. Everyone else will wait until we are settled at home, and ready. My visitor room was so teeny tiny that visitors got overwhelming, quickly. Ultimately though, you’ll need to do what is right for you. What one person is happy with, may not work for another. Talk to your partner about it, and make a decision, then stick with it. Everyone may Be initially frustrated, but they will understand in the long run.

You could just do immediate family so like parents and siblings. Also give yourself time at the hospital for just you, your husband, and the baby. Call them when you’re ready and tell them what time they may come and also tell them a time to leave. It may seem rude but some people just don’t know when to leave so it’s best to say like we are having more visitors come at so and so time or me and the baby are going to nap in an hour so I’m sorry it’s not a long visit. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Honestly, wait and see how it goes. Don't make promises, just let everyone know hubby will check in once you and baby have had some time to rest.
