Breast milk making my baby sick

Found out today that my 5 week old baby most likely has a milk protein allergy and I need to eliminate dairy. I’m totally fine with that, it’s a simple solution.
BUT, Where I’m struggling though is, apparently it takes 3 weeks for the milk proteins to leave the mothers system, so for the next three weeks I’ll be feeding him knowing he will get sick from it.
It causes him to spew, Diarrhoea and Gas pain.
I really feel like I’m hurting him.
