Husband is CF carrier positive

Hi all!

My husband and I have been under going a fertility assessment and after all of the tests (of which it was determined sperm is not reaching the ejaculate but all tests determined he should be producing normally), we found out he has markers for being a CF carrier. We are being sent to a genetic counsellor (I will be tested as well to make sure I’m also not a carrier) as well as a urologist who should be able to surgically retrieve sperm for IVF.

Does anyone have any insight into this? Or have any experience with this type of diagnosis. Based on my husbands lack of medical history (he’s always been a pretty healthy guy) he doesn’t think he has CF but I’m still a little concerned and worried. I’ve read that being a carrier is actually fairly common it just becomes an issues if we both are.
