Kyleena IUD?

Question

Hello, my doc recommended I get the Kyleena IUD. I’ve only had the Depo shot before. Any experience you’ve had with Kyleena is helpful!

I got Kyleena today and the procedure only hurt for the insertion which felt like one big cramp and was pretty painful but only lasted for about a few seconds then after it was just some minor discomfort and cramping.

I have Liletta. I just got it a few  weeks ago after switching off of ParaGard due to cramps. My cervix is apparently impervious to pAin because I could hardly feel insertion either time, but overall I’ve had only minor cramps with Liletta during my period, and they are working on getting it approved for 7 years (currently 5). It is a bit bigger than Kyleena, but should still work (I am 17, never had kids) and it fits just fine.

I have the lilletta & I know everyone is different but insertion was probably the worst pain of my life. I made a mistake by going alone & I went into shock from the pain while I was trying to drive home. Honestly it was hell for about 2 days because I could constantly feel it. Buuuut I’ve had it since October & my periods are near non existent now & I don’t worry about being pregnant at all! It’s so nice if it’s a real worry for you. It seems like my kind of experience isn’t very common but I figured I’d put it out there! Make sure you go with someone who can take you home just in case it’s bad & be ready to just chill for a while after!

I been with Kyleena for a Month now. Its been good for me. The procedure was a lil painful .Had some cramps at the beginning and bleed a little. Now i don’t experience any bleeding or pain.
