Plan B as BC? Serious question.

So, I see a lot of posts where people say they use Plan B multiple times in a short time after having unprotected sex. It was my understanding that it is not supposed to be used regularly, but in the rare occasion that you might have gotten impregnated. How does it affect your body if you use plan b too often? Genuinely curious.

You're not supposed to take it more than 3x in a full year. It messes up your cycle for up to 3 months. It is for emergencies only.

If you are not keen on birth control because there is a lot of side effects, use condoms with a contraceptive sponge. You can get the sponge at the drug store.

Well I may be wrong but my understanding was that it shouldn’t be used solely as a method of birth control as it’s less effective than condoms or the pill or other methods. 
I’m not sure if it has any long term effects on you but it can really mess with your period so it’ll be harder to tell whether it’s worked... plus the risk of side effects increase if you take it more than once a cycle, and they can be unpleasant.
