Anyone NOT having the baby in their bedroom but in their crib immediately coming home?

Our master bedroom is upstairs and baby's room is downstairs. We plan to have the bassinet next to my side of the bed so I can easily have access to baby when I need to nurse throughout the night and whenever baby gets older we will set up a second crib in the corner of our room (we have a fairly larger sized room with plenty of space) and then once she turns a year we will begin trying to get her used to sleeping in her own room with as many cameras as possible + the owlet smart sock 😅 lost our first baby girl to SIDS at 4 months in her sleep so we are very nervous.

My anxiety can’t handle having my baby so far away. I need to be able to see them and see they are breathing and okay. Also, from experience with my 2 year old, it’s sooooo much easier for night feedings to have them right beside your bed lol. I couldn’t imagine getting up over and over and walking to another room to do feedings.

Our plan is first couple months we will have them in a crib/pack n play in our bedroom. Then we plan to move their cribs into their room after a little while.

We have babies room with crib but because she will be sharing a room with 2 kids in elementary school she will be in a bassinet in our room so they can sleep. Otherwise she would have been directly in crib. It creates better sleeping habits for parents and baby

My brother did that 20 years ago with his kids.. they seem to be ok. I’m not because our room is downstairs at one end of the house and the crib is upstairs at the other end so while I’m feeding in the night it’s easier to have him in our room. I intend to transfer him as early as possible to his room. It is recommended by the AAP that the baby does sleep in the parents room for 6 months to a year.. apparently it reduces SIDS- need to do some reading into that. But as with everything there is conflicting evidence. Do your research and do what’s right for you.

I bought the Halo bassinet our house is too big to have him so far away in his room. I'm afraid the monitor will go out and I'd never hear his cries. He will be with us until he outgrows the bassinet.

I plan on putting my daughter in her crib in her room only because I will have a video baby monitor and I am right across from her room and her brother's room. With my son I had him in my room for 4 months and I just liked it so much better when we moved him out of the room because my husband was more rested for work and less tired when he came home because I wasn't waking him on accident when I needed to turn a light on to change our son's diaper.

No. I find it easier when they are newborn and waking up a lot to feed to be in the same room.

I will say our bedroom is on the same floor as babies room and we have a video monitor. Plus there is a regular sized bed in his room if he super fussy for me to sleep In if needed. I mainly don’t want him in my room because I like my room like frigid and I know that’s not good for baby lol
