40 and TTC

I just joined this app and we’ve been trying for 5 months and have had no luck. My husband travels a lot so I have to be “choosy” about when we BD. I’m doing OPKs and am wondering if my timing is off? We typically BD on the day I get a (+) ovulation test / solid smiley. Should I be waiting until I ovulate or just keep doing it on my LH surge day? Help! I’m losing hope :(
