Do you shred papers with your name and/or address on them?

Although I’m sure the internet puts people at a greater risk for identity theft, some people shred documents with their names, addresses, date of birth, account numbers, etc. on them prior to recycling or throwing in the trash. Do you do this? Do you think it’s necessary?

I do for account numbers and date of birth.  Not if it’s just my name and address.

No. If anybody wanted to find somebody else the internet is readily available. It’s exceptionally easy to find out anything about anybody with the tiniest bit of information. It’s a moot point to shred papers.

no. where i live we burn every piece of paper and cardboard we have.

If it has my social, yes. Usually I just tear that part off and rip it up. But if someone wants to steal my identity, they’re sadly mistaken. I’m poor with terrible credit 😂

Yes when we get a big enough pile we shred and recycle. I always figured it was the safest way to dispose of checks with mobile deposit.

But i do usually stack fat ass pile which makes me sick becuz i tried to go paperless everywhere but still get bills
