Yeah, she does... ME!! I’M his mother! Not you! Quit fucking telling me my baby needs to learn how to “self soothe”, he’s fucking three months old and developmentally incapable of “self soothing”. It might’ve been cool for you to leave your babies to scream and cry when you were raising us, but research is now showing that is terrible for babies. Not to mention ALL THREE OF YOUR KIDS have mental health issues so obviously what you did wasn’t perfect! I’m not necessarily blaming my mom for the way I turned out (even though one of my diagnoses literally stems from being emotionally neglected as a child...) but that combined with the new research should be enough to suggest to her there might be better ways of parenting. I hope when my son has kids I am a big enough person to admit “wow, I wish we would have known that when I was raising you” instead of insisting on a damaging, outdated method of parenting. 🤬
