Silky hair?

Question

I know this is a makeup group but I’m hoping some for help because I couldn’t find a page with enough members to ask about hair 🙂
So naturally my hair is a curly/wavy frizzy mess
I usually straighten it 99% of the time and even when I do it’s still frizzy and dull.
Idk what else to do. I’ve tried hair oils, hair treatments but it still dull.
I have waist length hair and am not cutting it, i know my ends are pretty dead, but I trim my dead ends often. I do want to throw in here that I’ve been dying my hair black since I was about 11, so 12 years now. Now I just do my roots but occasionally I will dye my entire head. I just want my hair to be shiny and flat when I straighten it 😫
My hair isn’t straight right now but it pretty much looks the same way straightened.
How can I get it silky/shiny? And less frizzy?!

I would honestly say go for a massive cut to make the hair healthy again! 
Also get a hairdresser to cut your hair, even colour. Box dye is harsh and is likely killing the ends even if you’ve stopped it’s not great for your hair! 
If you want to try and fix it try coconut oil treatments but it’s unlikely I’ve found once hair is dead and at that stage there isn’t much you can do

I’ve box dyed my hair for years and have managed to keep it healthy. Get products to keep it moisturized , deep conditioner once a week , heat protection & DONT WASH EVERYDAY 🙌🏻

My hair is exactly the same way. What I’ve noticed that it has helped me so far is using the brand Shea Moisture. Yes it’s a little pricey but I’m sure if you go to Marshalls you can probably find it and not as expensive as if going to CVS, Target or a Rite Aid. Not gonna lie here, I was only able to find the Custard in Marshalls everything else came at full price but was willing to try it for my hair and to boost my own self esteem. I wash my hair about 2xs a week and brush it almost every night. Ive been using these three things for 1 month and I’ve already seen better results than with anything else I’ve tried.

Olaplex saved my hair! It’s a bonding treatment that you use atleast once a week and leave in for a minimum of 10 minutes. When I use it, I leave it in over night. I would also suggest investing in a good quality shampoo and conditioner. You really get what you pay for with haircare. I am partial to Wella. Whenever I wash my hair, I also put in a hair serum using the pray method and then spray with Mizani miracle milk. My stylist is always telling me how healthy and soft my hair is and tells her other clients with a similar hair type what I do.

I love your hair, it’s so long and beautiful! I wish mine would grow that long! 💕 I have very wavy/frizzy hair naturally and I got a keratin treatment done. It made my hair feel so incredibly smooth and shiny. I made sure the product my hairdresser used is formaldehyde free- some keratin treatment products have formaldehyde so make sure to steer clear of that but if you have a little extra time I would do some research on it and see if it might be a good fit for you! It can be expensive but it’s soooo worth it IMO.

Use olive oil! I have super curly hair and I used to straighten it soooo often. So 30 minutes- 1 hour make your hair super greasy with olive oil, and wrap a bag or shirt over it. Then wash it out! Or , what I do now, as soon as I am out of the shower with my hair wet, I put olive oil in it. Not a lot because it will turn greasy, but especially on the ends because they’re so dead from straightening it or just dead from not trimming it lol. But yeah on the ends, mid hair, and the roots for sure! Trust me, my other friends with curly hair (who straighten it and don’t straighten it) have tried my method have tried it and loved it!!!! You should try it! It is simply pure olive oil.

Your hair sounds like mine. My hair is really hard to deal with but whatsgood for my hair may not be as good for yours but why not try it. 
I've realized that when I use a shampoo I have to change it every bottle I run out of. I dont know why but I can use one over and over. When I use a new one it's difficult it helps a lot it becomes smoother and softer less frizzy and around the time I almost finish the bottle it'll go back to my normal dang hair until I buy a different shampoo. I usually have to run through 6 different brands until I can go back around to the first one lol. For example I buy a Pantene shampoo bottle then I'll hange it to garnier then to tresemme then to a different brand and so on and my hair will become smooth and less frizzy and easier to work with. But if I don't do this then my hair will tense up again.
