I am type 1 also. I had a miscarriage in early November. I was scared it was due to my diabetes but the dr said my a1c was good and that shouldn’t have effected my pregnancy. I am now 30 weeks pregnant and have had no problems. My a1c before pregnancy was 6.2 and my dr wanted it down under 6 during pregnancy. It’s now at 5.3. My doctor just talked a lot about checking ketones anytime I had high blood sugar and prescribed me a glucagon for any scary lows.

Not going to lie, it’s hard! My husband and I got pregnant the end of January. I am now 23 weeks with our baby girl.💗 from the moment of that positive pregnancy test maybe even a little before I took the test, my blood sugars were crazy! I am now starting to get a little control over them now that my doctor and I have seen some trends , I went from having highs all the time to really scary lows at night . Because your hormones are crazy and baby is growing you’ll be at your highest amount of insulin to the lowest to asking God why 3 units of correction isn’t budging a 140! I use to not get any correction for a 140 it still feels weird to draw up 3 units for it! When I got pregnant my A1C was a 7.0 I am now at a 6.0 and hoping by my next doctors appointment it’s in the 5’s! CGM’s are a life saver ! I constantly check my blood sugar while pregnant. You can have a healthy pregnancy as a type 1 you just have extra doctor appointments and blood sugar checks and insulin adjustments constantly. Blood sugars will be stressful but girl try not to stress about it because it only makes it worse when you stress . I cried everyday wondering if I was harming my baby by my blood sugar sneaking up on me to 200 , I ask my doctor and told her that I cried everyday about it and she said by me stressing over it will do more than a high blood sugar every now and then. Just take it easy, get some insulin drink some water and try to relax and it will come down . That was the best advice for me and it worked! Message me if you want to talk more ! 💗

Currently 11 weeks, I also have T1. It’s been hard even with my A1c’s being great for the past years. I’m so excited for these random thrice-daily hypos to be behind me! Combining being extra careful with keeping my numbers perfect and regular pregnancy nausea and exhaustion has been such a roller coaster. I’m always so happy to hear others have done it and are ok, because I certainly don’t feel ok atm!!Luckily my OB and endo have both been very supportive, I see them both weekly (I live in Germany) and I am no longer working (since week 8) so I’m aware I’ve had it easy compared to others. I’m very lucky.Word of advice, invest in a CGM. It’s probably the sole reason I still have an ounce of sanity. That being said, my husband and I tried for 9 months and I’m so so happy it finally worked. I can’t wait to meet our baby!

I recently had twins as a type 1 diabetic, thank God. I had appointments with the specialist doctor or obgyn almost every week, along with testing my A1C frequently. Started out with a 7.8 A1C, was down to 5.2 by the end, using the dexcom and bolusing 20 to 30 minutes before and keep up with my increasing insulting resistance was essential. It took all my energy to keep track of my numbers but was so important of course. Hope you see a new little baby soon! Dont be scared, just be prepared to work hard on maintaining your BG.
