I’m a freshman and there is this boy, code name turtle, that I really really like. It started of earlier this year because one of my friends , cherry, liked and still likes him. One day turtle and I were walking together and I guess Cherry saw us because when i saw she looked me in the eye and said “If you date him, we are no longer friends” im like whattt? I was mad at first. But since i was mad. I got closer with turtle. i didn’t like him then but just wanted to play around with cherry. we cooled down and smoothed it over. but turtle and I were just too close to back off. I still didn’t like him but we played around together EVERYDAY! we’ve ran around in school. teased eachother. fought. and the list goes on. WE ARE 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼. and then feelings came in. they came in like a month ago. i was trying to avoid them for cherry. but last week i told her. she was sad at first and told me “you have more of a chance anyways” and walked away. IT BROKE ME! so i backed of turtle a bit. he catched on and he got closer to me. here is the issue:

HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND AND HAVE BEEN DATING FOR MONTHS!!!

HE IS FRIENDLY TO EVERYONE.

the problem with one is obvious. How do i compete with that? it broke me when he started gushing about his girl.

and the problem with two has its perks. but im worried that hes just being friendly with me. but the things he does. maybe its me overreacting?

- takes my phone. spams it with pictures.

- made himself my lock-screen

- we chase eachother around

- have inside jokes

- we tease eachother.

- he has held my hand.

- have longggg deeep conversations

- random staring “contest “

but he talks with three other girls constantly. but hes more “connected “ to me?

but im sad . cause maybe im crazy. seeing things he doesn’t. so idk.

when i noticed cherry was really sad and shit. i backed off. for at least 3 days until he noticed i was “ignoring” him. i told him “i dont wanna hurt someone and im worried being too close to you might hurt them.” he said “we are bestfriends you can trust me” i told cherry and ive been TRYING to keep my distance 🤷🏻‍♀️ im trying back off.
