Early labor stopping

Last night i went to the hospital at 9pm with regular contractions at 3 mins apart. I got a cervical check and was told they were going to monitor me for an hour to see if i could stay. I was at 3cm 90% and -1 im also 39 weeks and 6 days. Got checked after an hour and no change. Continued contractions 3 mins apart and went for an hour walk at the hospital and they started getting stronger and a little closer together. I got checked again and still no progress, by that time it was 12am. So i got sent home with sleeping meds, woke up this morning and no contractions! I had contractions for over 4 hours continually 3 mins apart and irregular contractions since 5:45pm. So over 6 hours of contractions. Has anyone experienced this and maybe gone into labor the next day? Getting anxious today would literally be ideal if she was born today lol
