Copper IUD

Hi ladies, I’m exploring different types of birth control, I obviously have to still discuss with my dr. I just want something that’s not going to mess with my hormones, causing weight gain, acne or craziness! I was thinking the Copper IUD, but I heard it was painful. For those who have it- did it hurt? how bad?
