Nipple Shield and Breast Pump sizes????

Question

Well so far I had no luck finding nursing classes before my due date and I’m honestly so confused about pump sizes etc etc.. one of my friends told me about nipple shields and I’m so excited to try them but I have no idea what size I should get ?  
Anyone with some knowledge in this area? lol

If your hospital has lactation specialists, they can help you out right after you deliver. With my first, a visit from the specialist was a standard. You may not need anything more than what comes with your pump already.

Do you mean flanges? Those are the part of the pump that fits to your breast. The company that makes your pump should offer a guide for sizing. The pump comes with the most typical size. 
The only time I used an actual nipple shield was during breastfeeding, but I found them difficult. I’m not sure a shield would be functional or helpful when pumping. 
If you’re interested in breastfeeding but can’t find classes, I’d recommend The Essential Guide to Breastfeeding Book. I read it before my first and found it helpful. There might also be information about pumping in that book if I remember correctly.

I needed nipple shields for nursing because mine didn’t pop out properly and my baby bruised them when he first latched. My boobs got big, but I wouldn’t have known that until I had him. I’d wait and see after and then order them.
