Period for more than a month

I started my period on March 30th and I took a birth control pill trhrough May 2-3rd to stop it and it did on may 3rd completely so I didn’t feel the need to take more. And I got my period back on May 5th. My period has only gotten heavier and not lighter. What should I do!
