I didn't get anything special for my first mother's day only a kiss from my boyfriend. Haven't asked what I wanted to do but, suggest I look after his niece because his mom don't pay no attention to her. All she does is disrespect her grandparents and only care for her girlfriend. Am so aggravated. I can't stand this..

I mean, I get how you feel and your feelings are valid.. but no one is obligated to do something for you on mother's day. It is a nice gesture for them to, but you're not entitled to it.
I seldom get anything for mother's day. Today I wanted to go out so I suggested it and I paid for it out of my spending money. 🤷🏽‍♀️

He can’t read your mind, he won’t know those things are important to you unless you say so. I know you feel like he should just know but that’s not realistic. Him not doing those things doesn’t mean he doesn’t care, you just need to have a conversation and get your expectations lined up. We have different love languages

I bought my own gift then when fathers day came around I got something for my husband from our daughter he felt really bad...I bought my own gift last year too. And I will this year... I got a kiss and happy Mother’s Day from him. I’m like flowers would suffice you know... but since he doesn’t I spend more on something else because he doesn’t do anything.

Am I being ungrateful?
