Air Force reserve or Air National Guard?

I’m not sure which one is the better option would you guys please help me with your input? Does ANG give you more benefits than the reserves? Do you do more than Reservists or less? Will you deploy?

Reserves are federally funded, national guard is state funded. Pretty much the only difference from my understanding. Otherwise the benefits are the same and there’s always a likelihood to deploy. You just never know what could happen.

I would say Air Force, but that’s just my opinion if I was going to enlist.

We’re and Army National Guard family, but I’m happy to answer any questions that I can. Like others have said, the main difference is that it’s state funded and controlled as opposed to federal. Which means that the governor has more control over CONUS deployments. For example, in our state, the governor declined to send any of our guard soldiers to do work at the border, whereas other governors did. However it does have a huge affect on deployments - those are still plentiful. My husband has done three deployments and each was at minimum one year long.
