Irked Pregnant Rant

Kristina

I’m sure this is just my hormones and generally feeling exhausted and uncomfortable at 38+5. But it really irks me when someone asks a pregnant woman in the end of their 3rd trimester (or any time during pregnancy really) how they are feeling and when they answer with “I’m tired” or “I just want to be done and the baby to be here” or “I’m uncomfortable” said person immediately answers with something to the effect of “OH you think you’re tired/uncomfortable/annoyed/stressed NOW? Just WAIT until...”

Like hey, MAYBE that’s not what a women who’s 39 weeks pregnant wants to hear right now. I’m sure being a mom yourself you bitched just as much or more when you were this pregnant. Since you’ve done this before and you know what this woman is going through, what about trying “hey mama-to-be, you’re doing great! Hang in there, you’re almost done!”

I just hate that people feel the need to tell others how much worse things will get when they’re pregnant or about to have a baby. I’m sure everyone who gets pregnant knows when the baby comes it will be hard, they will be exhausted, and it will push them to the limits more than they ever knew. But GOOD LORD there is no need to rub their face in it. Positivity and support would be so much more helpful!

Am I the only one who is totally bothered by this? 😑
