How often should my hubby be masturbating

Hi I'm just wondering how often a male should be masturbating before it becomes a health problem. Because my hubby says that's why he masturbates so often. I'm saying nearly 2 to 3 times a week sometimes. Is that normal or is it just his excuse for it.
