Anyone else going to use one of these?? My parents are quite anti social media but my MIL loves it. This isn’t rude is it??

My in laws in particular think they have some kind of right to my child. We aren’t close and see them 3 times a year max (they’re a different breed of human lol don’t get me started 🙄) so we just won’t tell them I’m in labour or she’s born until we’re home and ready for visitors. Not worth it and surprisingly this was my partners decision. I’m so weird about putting kids on social media I’d rather not have my kid plastered over Facebook by anyone, even myself

My husband is deployed and i don’t want anything posted until I know he’s seen pictures and we’ve had a chance to talk and I think I’m going to post this after my baby shower. I think in today’s world it’s a very logical thing to post

I think it depends on every situation, I don’t feel like I need to do that because I’m the one in charge of who has pictures or who knows when I’m even in labor.

We aren’t telling anyone but my sister when I go into labor or once baby is here. Our families have no self restraint and if it was up to my husband he wouldn’t have any pictures posted at all he hates socials. But we live across the us from them so we aren’t having visitors for the first six weeks and I cut people off at the end of June because I’m not in the mood nor want to host at 35-39 weeks since I am heavily monitored and I find it unfair that if everyone we want there can’t be than no one gets to feel or act more important than someone else’s family or friends. We have major trust in my sister and in case of complications she is prepared to make all the calls so our phones aren’t blowing up and field all the calls. 
So this to me doesn’t seem rude at all.

*sigh* yet another thing to discuss with my aunts and in laws. In laws don’t understand that it isn’t their place to do these things. My aunts are more innocent and try not to post things but they have a tendency to hit the wrong buttons. For instance my aunt thought she was sending a private message to my mom when she actually posted it to her FB wall about baby safety (a very outdated piece of advice). 
Will add this to my list of to do’s.
