Why do they still do this?

Question

So am l off my rocker or has it been awhile since crib bumpers were considered safe? So why is it every bedding set for a crib still includes crib bumpers? Seems like a waste of time, material and money seeing as they won’t/shouldn’t be used. 🤨

They want you to spend 100+ dollars on something because it looks cute. I don't understand it either. I literally only bought a fitted sheet and bedskirt to kind of make his crib look a little more decorated. He isn't even gonna be sleeping in it for a while anyway. I think we get so caught up in the excitement of preparing for baby that we over spend money a lot of the time. I know I have. And these companies know how to get us everytime lol.

Honestly I see no use for a bedding set for baby, it’s not like you should be using stuff in the crib anyway. Baby should be in an empty crib, no blankets or anything otherwise you’re increasing chances of SIDS. All we will get will be a few fitted sheets for the mattress.

All we are doing for my sons crib is a sheet and a bed skirt. Then probably a very cheap crib bumper on the side rails for when he gets old enough to start chewing on the crib from Amazon.

I used the bumper so clothes wouldn't fall out of the crib hahaha 
My eldest never used her crib so I didn't get one for my youngest. But I put the bumpers in when clothes were slipping through the cracks from laundry. 
But i agree they are not safe and they shouldn't be included

When the baby is older you can use it and the blanket. But I never got a set for that reason. Neither the bumper nor the blanket are safe for an infant.

Well no crib sets are safe. The crib is supposed to be empty with literally just a fitted sheet on the mattress. So all sets are a waste to me, I never bought one. Just the fitted sheets for $10 lol 
Then I had to get mesh/breathable liners because my son almost got his hand stuck. I wasn’t gonna risk him hurting himself.

Why do they still do this?
