The best thing I did before having my baby was not doing research!

I feel like I’m able to do things with my baby intuitively instead of trying to stick to a plan, routine, or “whatever your supposed to do with a baby” fad of the moment.

I intuitively started nursing on one breast with no idea how long is “normal” to nurse. He nurses for 5-7 minutes and is the 85th percentile.

I just put him in his bassinet to sleep at night with a noise machine and he falls asleep. I never once looked up sleep suggestions or bedtime routines. We just tried a few things and then realized white noise worked and stuck with it.

We stopped swaddling because he grunted trying to get out of it all night. It was a baby straight jacket.

I unfollowed Taking Cara Babies when I realized it was all about trying to “get” your baby to do something. That’s silly. Babies do what they do and YOU respond. You learn to work together.

There’s so much info out there that people just forget to parent in the moment. Information overload makes us worry about everything and forget the joy of learning for ourselves.
