My son gasps for air?

He’s 6 weeks old as of yesterday and started this thing where he’ll gasp for air and sometimes stop breathing for like 2 seconds?? It freaks me out. Some people said it could be related to his reflux and others say it’s completely normal and nothing to worry about. Should I be concerned? I don’t wanna call the pediatrician if it’s something a lot of newborns do.

Definitely not something most newborns do i would call the doctor and get that checked out asap

Newborns often do breathe really weird and make lots of crazy noises but I definitely wouldn't hesitate to call the pediatrician.. That's what they get paid for! Better safe than sorry and it can put you at ease if it's normal

I would get it checked out my son had acid reflux pretty bad when he was little too and later on found out he had sleep apnea which can cause skips in their breathing especially when they are well asleep. So definitely talk to a doctor always better to be safe than sorry especially when it comes to our beautiful babies.
