Requirement to get married in Hawaii?

Hello ladies! My fiancé and I want to get married in Hawaii just the 2 of us. We are in our late 20s but we have no one to ask what’s the process of getting married (our family & friends are not married). Please help

You need to apply for a marriage license in the state you want to get married at. Not sure how long this takes in hawaii, but I'm sure its Google-able.

My sister and her husband got married/eloped in Mexico while on vacation. They secretly went to the courthouse in their state and made it official before the trip. The resort happily accommodated them with an officiant, the only thing they had to do was pay for a photographer and their outfits. It turned out beautifully!

I’m not sure exactly how it works in Hawaii but to get married you need to apply for a marriage license. Then you need to find out how long you have to get married before the license expires. Like some states you only have 30 days to get married after getting the license and some states give you a year. Also find out fees and who will actually be able to marry you. A lawyer married me and my husband and that costed a small fee. I would call the courthouse of wherever you’re planning to get married at and ask them about a license and fees and what you need to bring and whatever else you have questions about.

I'm not from Hawaii, but overall in the US, you'll need to get your marriage license. In my state and many others, you get it at the court house. In my state, you cannot get it more than about a month in advance or it expires. You also must get your license at least three days in advance of the ceremony. Many states have waiting days required to stop people from making drunken mistakes. Check out what Hawaii's requirements for time are. You'll then need to be married by someone qualified to do so (usually a Justice of the Peace or an ordained minister). The movies always show a friend who is ordained over the Internet performing the ceremony, but my state takes a dim view of that, and marriage ceremonies performed in that way are not considered valid. I would look at Hawaii's laws to be sure but would probably play it safe and use a minister or JOP either way. On the marriage day, the minister and you both need to sign paperwork, which someone needs to mail in within about a week. Our minister's wife took care of that for us. Then, you should be mailed a copy of your marriage license once the paperwork is processed. You can pay for extra copies. I think we ended up getting two extras for the name change process.
It sounds like a lot, but it wasn't too bad. I would recommend using a wedding planning schedule at least for paperwork dates. It helped us to stay on schedule.
