Thought I heard my newborn crying?

Ever since we’ve been home from the hospital, if I leave him in another room while he’s asleep and I’m doing something else (cleaning bottles, doing laundry etc.) I think I hear him crying but when i go to check on him he’s still sleeping. This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever experienced. I’m a FTM.

Completely normal. I’m a third time mom and always think I hear my son crying when he isn’t. There’s probably a good reason for it. I bet it’s built into our evolutionary motherly instincts.

This is why I set up my video monitor even with his bassinet because I was constantly going in to check! I could then carry the parent part around the house with me.

Yes!! I have 8 month old and still sometimes happens but first few weeks were the worst. Totally normal.

Babies will cry a bit in their sleep, so you probably are hearing them cry. It’s normal.

I do the same thing, he's 10 weeks old now so I'm not so bad but in those first few weeks if I left the room I'd end up going back in as I thought he was crying but nope he was still peacefully asleep, still not sure why it happens but atleast I know I'm not the only one who does it!
