Mommies of 2! How does it work with a newborn and a toddler?

Possibly pregnant and freaking out. How do you watch a toddler and a newborn? I’m barely managing as it is. Sleep deprived for over a year 😩 My 13 month old is full of energy and running all over the place.. but doesn’t sleep through the night. I’m just having a hard time picturing this. How do you manage to keep up with them while taking care of a new baby too?

I have a 19 month old and a 5 month old. I love them so much and wouldn’t change a thing. Yes, some days are easier than others vice versa. It’s basically doing everything twice. But it’s worth it. My older one isn’t jealous and loves to play with her sister. I don’t have any help except my husband. We do our best

Make your older sibling the super helper! Have them grab diapers, pick out outfits, sing songs to the baby, etc. The more involved you get your toddler the more relaxed you can be for both of them. My 3 yr old still gets up every single night so I feel you there, but honestly all those sleepless nights just made me that much more prepared for jumping back into the newborn sleep. I found it much easeir to get the baby on our schedules, and i manage a nap when they both are sleeping. Otherwise it was actually so much easier assisting to having the newborn with the toddler bc i better knew what i was expecting this time around. Good Luck!

I had my babies 14 1/2 months apart and they are now almost 17 months old and currently 2 months old and it’s hard because the 17 months old doesn’t understand to be gentle and still isn’t walkin (goin through therapy starting next week) and she is no help with “bring me a diaper” type stuff yet. Everyone I talk to says it gets easier as they get older and a little more independent so we shall see

why is your toddler not sleeping through the night? no kids yet, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but maybe cut out naps and see if that helps?
