IUD advice?

I'm done with the pill - time to get an IUD! Any opinions on the different types (hormonal vs copper)? Any advice on which one to get is appreciated!

I am loving my Paragard iud! Non hormonal which is perfect for me because I hated the hormonal pills (made me very emotional and gain weight in the past)! I haven’t noticed any side effects at all so far (had it for about 3 months)

I have the mirena iud. I like it, except I’ve been bleeding since it’s been put in ( 2 1/2 months) which is annoying. Otherwise it’s good.

I’ve had both! Had the copper one before I had my baby. My periods were heavy & so painful. Now I have Mirena; I like it but I’ve been spotting quite a bit & it’s very annoying. But I feel much better & haven’t gained weight. I’d recommend Mirena, hands down!

Love the Mirena- I spotted for about 2 months but now that’s done and I don’t have to worry about birth control for the next 5 years!! Yay!

I don’t have personal experience but my sister had really light, non painful periods then got the copper iud and they got heavy and very painful, and they’re still that way after removal

I wanted to get the cooper iud but was informed it will worsen your period. So mirena it is

Make sure whatever you get that your doctor checks a few months after. I went back to the doctor last week and my uterus had dislodged mine. He said that might have been why I was bleeding so often!
