Red stained because of beetroot?

Question

I had beetroot on Tuesday and Wednesday and didn't poop yesterday and when I did this morning it was red when wiped I thought because of beetroot and I pooped again and when I wiped it's like this again. Is this because of beetroot or something else? I am 4.5 months Postpartum. My poop is stained when I eat beetroot but looked at it and it was just black brown? Had strawberries and cherry too last night.

It could be a small pile that’s causing the blood. I would just keep an eye it and see what it’s like the next time you go to the bathroom

It’s not uncommon for your stool or even your pee to them red/pink when eating beetroot! You usually don’t see the change in your stool till about 2-3 days after you eat it usually and it can last a few days longer than that! The tricky part about looking at your stool is the red color will be mixed with the regular stool making it hard to see a color difference, when you flushed did the water tint pink/red? I’ve always been advised not to be too concerned to think it’s blood unless the toilet paper looks like it would if you had a blood nose (bright red fresh blood). I wouldn’t be too worried love I’m pretty sure it’s just the beetroot just continue to monitor it and note any significant changes
