Have you started potty training your 2.5yr old?

We have one and have fiddled with it a little. He's speech delayed, so he doesn't quite understand yet. He's associated the potty with peeing, but thinks he's supposed to get on the potty AFTER he pees. So tried, but not ready yet. I think we are going to wait until he can speak a little more.

He's almost ready to start learning. We've given it a go a few times but he's not ready. He wants to wear underpants and refers to himself as a big boy and we discuss that big boys use the toilet etc but he doesn't recognise the feeling of needing to pee yet so pees all over the place and doesn't even realise he's gone until his feet are wet and even then he's not bothered and will continue about whatever he's doing. It's coming into winter here so it's a bit too cold so we're going to wait until september-ish to try again. 
He also won't go anywhere near his potty because he says there's a spider in it 🙄😂

At this point, we are just waiting for it to click and he decides he truly doesn’t want to go in his undies anymore.  During the day he wears underwear or a pull-up and at night he wears night time pull-ups. Sometimes he will tell us he has to go potty, but most of the time we take him every 30-45 minutes or so. He will swear that “there’s nothing there!” until he finally takes the time to go and then he pees a lot in the potty. He has only pooped once or twice in the potty though. Some days he goes all day without an accident, others it feels like all he does is have accidents. Potty training is a doozy, guys. 🙃

We started at about 2 years old and he got it for the most part but didn’t really want to do it all the time. So we did the 3 day training where he is naked in the house and it worked. We have accidents still here and there but I’ll take it!

She was doing so well going by herself and then I ruined it when we travelled overseas and wouldn’t let her touch yikey airplane toilets or public toilets. By the time we came home, we had to start over again.

I have twins. My boy did great and told me on day 5 "mama go potty!" We started in February. He just started waking dry and pooping on the toilet so yay!! He loves it lmao. 
My girl, his twin, wants nothing to do with the potty yet. She screams "no" if you ask if she wants underwear on or if she has to use the potty. We tried for 2 days and it was bad. Going to give her a bit longer.

He was really showing interest and would even ask to "try potty". Then we moved cross-country (four days of being in a car) and he's only peed on the potty once since then. Most of the time he just yells "potty no!" when we try to get him to use it. I'm afraid we ruined all progress by moving 😓

I’m starting this week with the two-day method. I hope I can handle it since I have a baby at home and my husband works. He’s speech-delayed too and doesn’t talk but I’m hoping he can learn it. If he’s not ready and doesn’t do well I don’t mind trying again in a few months.

We have tried but my daughter doesn't talk and won't tell us. But she will use the potty most of the time when we put her on it. We think she might b autistic so we r goin to try and wait.
